Hi! I’m Tristy Johnson, children’s book author, illustrator, and creator of magical storybook adventures including the Avid the Brave series. I believe kids learn best when they’re having fun—and that even the messiest moments can become empowering, imaginative quests.
My books are inspired by my greatest muse—my son, Avid—whose boundless curiosity and brave little heart sparked the very first story Chore Wars. Real-life parenting, a love for rhyme and rhythm, and a desire to help kids build confidence shape every page I create. Whether it’s cleaning at home, treating others with respect, or helping friends in need, each book is designed to help children grow through joy, creativity, and connection.
Through relatable characters, whimsical artwork, and empowering themes, I aim to spark joy, bravery, and imagination in every reader.
